Chained Wings

Past pain holding me back,

preventing me from moving forward.
Trying to break those chains,
to fly free into the future.

So hard to break away.
So hard to let go.
So afraid of hurting again.

What my heart craves,
what my heart wants,
seems impossible—
improbable.

A broken dragon
with chained wings,
desperately wanting
to fly again.
